Introducing Bluepoint Surgical’s B. Nourished Medical Weight Loss Program

The Basics: B. Nourished is an 8 week weight loss program that involves meal replacements and grocery store food.  Each week of the program you will meet with a Registered Dietitian to learn healthy eating habits and develop your own individualized meal plan based on your calorie needs. Periodically throughout the program you will meet with a personal trainer to assess physical ability and develop a personalized exercise plan.  Additionally, you will be medically monitored to ensure your health while on the very low calorie diet.   We recommend following up every 2-3 weeks after the 8 week program to ensure compliance and results!

Meal Replacements: The meal replacement our program uses is called OPTIFAST®.  OPTIFAST is specially formulated to be nutritionally complete and meet 100% of the Daily Value for 24 vitamins and minerals in five servings per day. The products of Nestle are made under the highest quality standards in today’s food industry. OPTIFAST comes in a number of forms. For your enjoyment we offer ready-to-drink shakes in three flavors, easy-to-make soups in two flavors, and three flavors of bars.  OPTIFAST is not sold in grocery stores or vitamin shops and is only available through participating doctor’s offices. During the duration of the program, you will purchase OPTIFAST through Bluepoint.

How much weight can I expect to lose? During the 8 week program you can expect to lose 2-5 pounds per week.  Your weight loss will vary beyond the first 8 weeks based on how much weight you need to lose and your maintenance calorie level.  With education and support from our Dietitians on how to live a healthier lifestyle and regular follow-up your weight loss can continue until you reach a healthy body weight.

Time Commitment: The initial consult will be about 60 minutes and each weekly follow-up visit will be a minimum of 30 minutes.  These consults are mandatory so you must be able to come during our office hours, which are 9am – 5pm, Monday –Friday.  Additionally, there will be light homework required each week, such as food logs.

I’m interested! What do I do next? Call our office at (703) 878-7610 to set-up your initial consult.  We will send you important documentation and consent forms to sign.  This will include a medical clearance form to be signed by your primary care physician.  We will also send you a few questionnaires about your current eating habits to be filled out before your first consult.
