   Hello everyone! I am scheduled for the sleeve on August 10. I was wondering how others from my Aetna classes that ended in May 2010 are doing and which surgery they chose. I couldnt make up my mind and on our last class Aetna approved the sleeve. I feel like a guinea pig since it hasnt been around here long. Im hoping it goes good, this has been such a long process!!!

   Hi Leler - I wasn't in an Aetna class, but I'm also having surgery on August 10th. Having GBP. Wondering why you chose the sleeve?

   Hello! So we might be roommates then!! What dr is doing your surgery? My main reason was because I didnt want something malabsorptive because we want to try and have another kid and I didnt want to lose it as rapidly as you do with gastric. So are you ready?

   Hi Leler. Dr. Moazzes is doing my surgery. I have my final appt. to see him on 7/29. I guess I am as ready as I can be. A little nervous, but my sister had GBP 2 years ago and she did fine and does not regret her decision. I'm having the GBP because I'm diabetic and the GBP eliminates diabetes almost immediately in most cases. My sister's diabetes was gone the day after her surgery so I'm really hoping that will be the case with me. Are you having your surgery at Fair Oaks? Are you ready??

   Hello I am having mine at Potomac. I thought I was ready til I started my optifast today and am miserable. I am in a training class with coworkers and am getting alot of questions and having to watch them eat burgers at lunch. I am starving bc i dont think the diet is enough calories for me and i guess im just feeling sorry for myself. Are you doing the Optifast?

   I didn't have to do the Optifast, I just had to lose 10 lbs. I know the Optfast must be difficult. Try your best to stick with it. After your surgery you won't have the hunger to deal with. Hang in there...Good Luck!!
